Material of propeller shafts
All propeller shaft are made “REMANIT 4462”. In comparison with stainless steel materials like AISI 316 and Aquamet 17 or 22, the corrosion resistance of “Remanit 4462” is much greater. In addition the tensile strength of “Remanit 4462” is about 30% greater than AISI 316 and its hardness is approximately 40% higher. It is precisely this high degree of hadness, which gives “Remanit 4462” its excellent running properties in (rubber) bearings.
