Dolphin Marine

Marine Safety Equipment & PPE Supply - SOLAS Approved

Dolphin Marine Group supplies, inspects, and maintains a comprehensive range of life-saving appliances (LSA), marine safety equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for commercial vessels and offshore facilities. Our product range includes lifejackets, immersion suits, lifebuoys, pyrotechnics, firefighter outfits, chemical protective suits, pilot ladders, and other essential safety equipment. Where type approval is required, products are sourced from approved manufacturers and supplied with the applicable certification. Fast-turnaround delivery is available at ports across Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Angola.

Expired, damaged, incorrectly marked, or missing safety equipment may result in Port State Control deficiencies and operational delays. Our team helps vessel operators identify the equipment required under applicable SOLAS, Flag State, Classification Society, and vessel-specific requirements. We also verify product condition, markings, approval documentation, and expiry dates to support onboard compliance and inspection readiness.

Immersion Suits & Thermal Protective Aids

Immersion suits reduce body-heat loss and provide thermal protection following vessel abandonment in cold water. The required number, type, and location of suits depend on the vessel type, trading area, survival-craft arrangement, and Flag State requirements. Dolphin Marine supplies SOLAS type-approved immersion suits, anti-exposure suits, and thermal protective aids, and provides inspection, pressure testing, maintenance, and repair services for suitable suit models.

Applicable requirements: SOLAS Chapter II-2, Regulation 10.10; FSS Code Chapter 3

Dolphin Marine supplies complete SOLAS-compliant firefighter outfits and chemical protective clothing for commercial vessels and offshore facilities. The number and arrangement of outfits depend on the vessel type, size, cargo, and applicable statutory requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions - Life Raft Servicing

What personal life-saving equipment does Dolphin Marine supply?

Dolphin Marine supplies SOLAS-approved life jackets (inflatable and foam types), lifebuoys with self-igniting lights and smoke signals, immersion suits and thermal protective aids, firefighter outfits (complete with suit, boots, gloves, helmet, lamp, and axe), and SOLAS-compliant pilot ladders and accommodation ladders. All equipment is sourced from certified manufacturers and supplied with full type-approval documentation.

SOLAS does not specify a fixed inspection interval for life jackets, but most flag state administrations and Classification Societies require annual inspection as part of the vessel’s Safety Equipment Certificate (SEC) survey. Inflatable life jackets require annual inspection of the bladder, oral inflation tube, auto-inflation mechanism, CO₂ cartridge, and light unit. Foam life jackets require annual visual inspection and buoyancy check. Dolphin Marine performs both types of inspection and issues service records.

Dolphin Marine supplies SOLAS-approved neoprene immersion suits and lightweight coated fabric immersion suits in adult sizes S through XXXL. We also carry anti-exposure suits for pilot and rescue boat crew. All suits are sourced from certified manufacturers carrying the required ISO 15027 type-approval. Immersion suit annual inspection – seam integrity test, zipper function, and retro-reflective tape check – is available at our service stations across Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Angola.

SOLAS Chapter II-2 Regulation 10.10 requires cargo vessels to carry a minimum of two firefighter outfits (or more, depending on vessel type and gross tonnage). Each outfit must include a heat-protective suit, boots, gloves, helmet with face shield, a safety lamp, and a fireman’s axe. Dolphin Marine supplies complete SOLAS-compliant firefighter outfits and carries out annual inspection of existing outfits aboard – including suit integrity check, boot condition, and equipment completeness verification.

Yes. Pilot ladders are subject to specific requirements under SOLAS Regulation V/23 and ISO 799-1:2019, including minimum step width (480mm), step spacing (300mm), and rope specification. Dolphin Marine supplies new SOLAS-compliant pilot ladders and inspects existing ones for compliance with these standards, issuing a compliance certificate. We also supply accommodation ladders and combination arrangements where required.
