Gas detection equipment is essential for enclosed-space entry, cargo operations, leak detection, and atmosphere monitoring aboard tankers, chemical carriers, bulk carriers, offshore units, and other vessels. Dolphin Marine provides onboard and workshop inspection, functional testing, calibration, repair, and supply services for portable gas detectors and fixed gas detection systems. Our technicians use suitable traceable calibration gases to verify sensor response, alarm activation, display accuracy, and control-panel operation, with calibration records issued upon successful completion.

Load Testing of Cargo Gear, Cranes & Launching Appliances

Dolphin Marine performs static and dynamic load testing, thorough examination, and Safe Working Load (SWL) verification for marine lifting appliances, cargo gear, gangways, and survival-craft launching appliances. Tests are carried out using certified water bags, calibrated load cells, and suitable rigging equipment. The proof-load value is determined according to the equipment type, rated capacity, manufacturer instructions, and applicable regulatory or Classification Society requirements.
Following successful completion, we provide load-test records and certificates identifying the equipment, applied load, test method, measuring equipment, and results. Where required, tests can be coordinated for witnessing by the vessel’s Classification Society, Flag State representative, or other competent authority.

Calibration of Marine Measuring & Monitoring Equipment

Dolphin Marine provides inspection, functional testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair services for marine measuring and pollution-monitoring equipment. Our scope includes pressure and temperature calibrators, pressure gauges, UTI meters, Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment (ODME), and Oily Water Separator (OWS) monitoring equipment.
Services can be performed onboard or at our workshop using suitable traceable reference instruments and certified test media. Following successful calibration, we provide a certificate identifying the equipment, reference standards, test points, readings, corrections, and calibration results.

Dolphin Marine provides onboard sampling, laboratory analysis, equipment testing, and instrument calibration services for vessels and offshore facilities. Our scope covers freshwater quality, fire-fighting foam, fire hoses, medical oxygen equipment, breath-alcohol analysers, temperature instruments, light meters, and sound-level meters.
Services are performed onboard or through suitable laboratory facilities, depending on the required test. Reports and calibration certificates identify the equipment or sample, test method, reference standard, results, and compliance criteria where applicable.

Fixed gas detection system inspection – including sensor function test, alarm activation, and control panel check – is also available. Does Dolphin Marine carry out freshwater analysis for drinking water compliance?
Yes. Dolphin Marine provides onboard freshwater sampling and laboratory analysis covering microbiological testing (total coliforms, E. coli, and Heterotrophic Plate Count) and chemical analysis (pH, turbidity, chlorine residual, and extended panels). The analysis report includes a compliance assessment against WHO drinking water quality guidelines and MLC 2006 Standard A3.2. Available at our Alexandria, Suez, Dubai, and Jeddah branches.
Can Dolphin Marine carry out pilot ladder inspection and certification?
Yes. Dolphin Marine inspects pilot ladders against SOLAS Regulation V/23 and ISO 799-1:2019, checking step dimensions, step spacing, rope condition, spreaders, and securing arrangements, and issues a SOLAS compliance certificate. We also supply new SOLAS-compliant pilot ladders and combination arrangements. Pilot ladder inspection can be scheduled in conjunction with other LSA or FFA inspection visits to minimise port time.
